Vol. 353 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

626.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection for new house grant purposes will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Laois as it has been requested for some time.

This application for a new house grant was refused because the floor area of the house is in excess of the maximum allowable (i.e. 125 sq. meters). The applicant was informed accordingly on 19 December 1983.

627.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house inspection will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

This file has been referred to my Department's inspector who has been requested to carry out an inspection as soon as possible.

628.

asked the Minister for the Environment if all documentation necessary for payment in grants has now been received in his Department in relation to the Tourmakedy group water scheme, County Mayo; and if he will now make arrangements for such payments to issue forthwith.

My Department is in correspondence with the group to ascertain the actual membership of the scheme. When this has been clarified, a final inspection of the scheme will be arranged with a view to determining the total amount of grants due for the scheme. In the meantime, the possibility of making an interim payment of grants to the group is being examined.
