Vol. 353 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

631.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have a house improvement grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

It is a condition of payment of a grant under the current scheme of house improvement grants that a house must be occupied on a permanent basis on completion of the works. A recent inspection revealed that the house in question was not occupied. When the applicant notifies my Department that the house is occupied, a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant, if in order. The applicant has been so informed.
