Vol. 353 No. 9

Written Answers. - Acceptance of Tender.

637.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department received a reply from a local authority (details supplied) to the Department's request to review their proposals for the acceptance of a tender on the grounds that the reasons advanced in support of that proposal did not appear to warrant the rejection of other lower tenders which had not been withdrawn; and if not, the grounds on which the local authority decided to readvertise for tenders for a sewerage scheme (details supplied).

The local authority concerned, by letter dated 9 August 1984, advised my Department that it was proposed to readvertise for tenders in this case in view of the delay in finalising the land acquisition. The local authority were informed that my Department had no objection to this course.
