Vol. 354 No. 1

Written Answers. - New Ross (Wexford) Company.

584.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism the amount of money paid by State bodies under the aegis of his Department to the receiver in Ross Company, New Ross, County Wexford, in respect of the takeover by the receiver and the subsequent handling of Ross Company by the receiver to date; if he will estimate the loss in value to the yard because of the deterioration of the plant and equipment; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

No moneys have been paid by the State bodies under the aegis of my Department to the receiver at the Ross Company, New Ross, County Wexford. Responsibility for maintenance of the yard, its plant and equipment is a matter for the receiver. I am not in a position to comment on the question of possible deterioration of the plant and equipment at the yard. This is a matter in respect of which I have no function.
