asked the Minister for Health the present position regarding the provision of a new health centre at Brideswell, Athlone, County Roscommon; when it will be let out for tender; the expected overall cost; the completion date; and if he will outline the proposed accommodation.

The closing date for the receipt of tenders for the proposed health centre at Brideswell, Athlone was 7 November, 1984. The tenders received are currently being examined by the Western Health Board's technical staff. Information on the overall cost of the scheme will not be available until a decision is taken on which tender should be accepted.

It is expected that work on the centre should commence in mid December 1984 and that construction should be completed around June 1985.

The accommodation proposed for the centre is as follows: general practitioner's room, general purpose room, room for a public health nurse, laundry room, store, toilet for staff and patients, waiting area.
