asked the Minister for Health if he is satisfied that the small establishments in the North-Eastern Health Board community care areas are able to provide a basic social work service to the general public and at the same time perform adequately child care duties arising from the Children Act, 1908; and fostering duties arising from the Health Act, 1953.

My Department are in touch with the North-Eastern Health Board regarding the adequacy of the social work service, including child care services, provided by the board.
