Vol. 354 No. 4

Written Answers. - Custodial Treatment Centre.

737.

asked the Minister for Justice, if, in view of the fact that he plans to hand £5 million from the moneys provided for prison building back to the Minister for Finance, he will immediately allocate some of this money to provide a suitable custodial treatment centre to which the court could refer convicted persons who are addicted to drugs.

Limerick East): What is involved in this matter is only a deferment of expenditure arising from the fact that a contract for particular building works was not placed as early as had been hoped.
