Vol. 354 No. 7

Written Answers. - Cork Information Services.

659.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism if the IDA has any plans to extend the information services available to the public in Cork, to bring Cork in line with the more extensive facilities available in Dublin and Limerick for people interested in setting up in business; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Paragraph 10.15 of the White Paper on Industrial Policy states that in the future a selected regional office will act as a "one-stop shop" for State advisory and support services, including training, for small industries. The aim is to present all available State services in a unified and clear way to the entrepreneur at local level.

The Management Committee on Industrial Policy will shortly consider submissions from the relevant State agencies concerning the most effective and cost efficient way of providing these information centres in the various regions, including the south-west region.
