asked the Minister for the Environment the total amount of money owed to each county council in respect of agricultural rates from prior to the decision to abolish them.

The Government decision to abolish rates on land took effect on 1 January 1983. According to the most up-to-date returns from local authorities, the following amounts of rates on land had not been paid in respect of 1982 and previous years.
