Note 1: The figures shown in this column are the block grant allocations made by the Department. The block grant supplements the provision made from the road authority's own resources for the improvement, maintenance and management of regional roads, for improvement works on county roads, and for traffic management works including works on national roads. The determination of priorities in the expenditure of the block grants, including the amount to be spent on improvement works on county roads, is a matter for the county council. Road grants are not provided for maintenance works on county roads.
