Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to persons (details supplied) in County Cork.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because the floor area of the house exceeds the maximum floor area allowable under the relevant regulations for grant purposes i.e. 125 sq. metres (1,346 sq. ft.). The applicant has been so informed.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

This grant was paid on 12 November 1984.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because a claim for payment was not received in my Department until 23 September 1982. Under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended), the latest date for receipt of claims for payment under the particular scheme was 30 June 1981.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the long delay in having a house improvement grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow; and when payment will be made.

This grant will be paid as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

The first instalment of the mortgage subsidy in this case will be paid shortly.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

A final inspection in this case will be carried out as soon as possible with a view to payment of the grant, if in order. The request for the final inspection was received in the Department on 28 November 1984.
