In assessing eligibility for a disabled persons maintenance allowance, the means of the applicant and that of his/her spouse must be taken into account.
The reason the allowance was withdrawn from the person in question is that his wife became eligible for an old age pension, including an allowance on his behalf, with effect from 16 July 1984.
