Vol. 354 No. 7

Written Answers. - Outstanding Health Contributions.

717.

asked the Minister for Health the total amount of money owed by (a) farmers and (b) the self-employed in the Eastern Health Board area in respect of outstanding health contributions.

A total of £759,050 is owed by farmers to the Eastern Health Board in respect of periods up to 5 April 1984.

The Collector-General, Revenue Commissioners, is responsible for the collection of health contributions from self-employed persons for all years and from farmers for the contribution years commencing on 6 April 1984.

The Collector-General's records are maintained by reference to income tax districts which do not necessarily coincide with health board areas. Consequently the information requested for the Eastern Health Board area is not available.
