My Department on 20 July 1984 sanctioned a grant for the new national school building at Ballinadee, County Cork. The project is at present with the Commissioners of Public Works for the preparation of the contract documents. It is not possible at this stage to say when building work may commence.

asked the Minister for Education when the new school at Carrigeen will go to tender.

My Department have accepted in principle proposals put forward by the Commissioners of Public Works for the provision of suitable accommodation at Carrigeen national school, County Kilkenny. These proposals have been forwarded to the school authorities for their consideration and my Department await a formal response. The question of inviting tenders for a new school at Carrigeen does not accordingly arise at present.
