asked the Minister for Education the progress which has been made in respect of plans for the provision of a convent school for Swords, County Dublin; and when she expects the school will open.

Architectural planning of the proposed new secondary school for girls in Swords is at an advanced stage and my Department are awaiting the submission of working drawings for the project by the school authorities. At this stage, it is not possible to indicate when the school may open. The Deputy may be assured, however, that there will be no avoidable delay on my Department's part in dealing with the matter.

asked the Minister for Education when work will commence on the extension to Ballyboughal national school, County Dublin.

My Department on 24 July 1984 sanctioned a grant for the extension to Ballyboughal national school, County Dublin. The project is at present with the Commissioners of Public Works for the preparation of the contract documents. It is not possible at this stage to say when building work on the extension may commence.

My Department on 16 February 1984 sanctioned a grant for the extension to Garristown national school, County Dublin. The project is at present with the Commissioners of Public Works for the preparation of the contract documents. It is not possible at this stage to say when building work on the extension may commence.

asked the Minister for Education when work will commence on the proposed new national school for Balscadden, County Dublin.

In September last my Department approved the placing of a contract for the proposed new national school at Balscadden, County Dublin. Further arrangements are a matter for the Commissioners of Public Works. It is understood from the commisioners that work on the project has commenced.
