asked the Minister for Agriculture the number of cases of injury or loss during TB or brucellosis testing which have been reported to his Department during the past five years; and the compensation, if any, which has been paid to farmers by his Department in respect of these reported losses.

Only one confirmed case of injury or loss resulting from TB or Brucellosis testing within the last five years is on record. In that instance an ex-gratia payment of £225 was made to the herdowner as a totally exceptional measure.
