The Deputy is aware that it was decided, in the context of the 1983 budget, to defer the multi-purpose feasibility study of the River Shannon flood problem. Furthermore, future policy on arterial drainage is at present under consideration. Accordingly I am not in a position to say when the survey might be undertaken.
