A placement officer of the National Manpower Service was located full time in Dungloe for only four months — September to December 1979. I am satisfied that the level of activity in the area did not justify continuing on a full time basis and the office was closed on the expiry of the lease.
A placement officer attends the employment exchange to service the Dungloe area twice monthly, for one-and-a-half or two days according to demand. The level of activity is kept under constant review and should the volume of business arising in Dungloe require additional attention I shall arrange accordingly.
