Vol. 355 No. 4

Written Answers. - VAT Rebate.

423.

asked the Minister for Finance if a VAT rebate will be paid to a garage proprietor (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will please ensure that there is no delay in expediting such a repayment in view of the major negative cash flow effects it has on the company in question which has already resulted in two employees having to be made redundant from 1 January this year.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a VAT inspector visited the person concerned on 23 January 1985 in connection with his claim for repayment of VAT which was received in the Office of the Collector-General on 19 December 1984. The inspector was unable to complete his audit on that occasion and a further visit has been arranged for Wednesday 30 January 1985. As soon as the claim is certified by the inspector, the appropriate repayment will be made without delay.
