Vol. 355 No. 4

Written Answers. - Milk Cessation Scheme.

548.

asked the Minister for Agriculture in the event of the present milk cessation scheme not providing sufficient quotas to meet the permanent quota requirements arising from the disease eradication programme, he will consider extending the scheme to cater for these farmers who have been badly affected by disease.

The total quantity of milk which can be purchased under the milk cessation scheme is seven million gallons. This will absorb completely the Exchequer funds that can be made available for the purpose.
