Vol. 355 No. 4

Written Answers. - Farming Statistics.

550.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the number of farmers concentrating at present in the following specialist agricultural enterprises:— (1) deer production; (2) duck production; (3) geese production; and (4) veal production; the number of farmers raising goats for the production of cashmere; and the number of farmers engaged in organic farming.

There are no official figures available for the numbers of farmers concentrating on the types of production referred to in the question. I am advised, however, that the numbers of farmers involved in these enterprises on a commercial basis are very small.
