asked the Minister for Education the assistance, financial or otherwise, allocated in 1979 to 1983 inclusive by Comhairle le Leas Óige to groups or organisations located outside the Dublin VEC area; the amount involved in each case; and the purpose for which the grants were allocated in each case.

Financial assistance is made available by my Department to the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee for the activities of Comhairle le Leas Óige to establish, maintain, assist or encourage the provision and maintenance of youth training centres. It is understood from the Comhairle le Leas Óige authorities that in the years in question funds were made available by it to the following organisations for activities outside the CDVEC's administrative area but for use by youth groups from within the CDVEC's administrative area:—

1. Youth Tasc, Annamoe, County Wicklow (also has an address in Cabra Dublin).

The purpose of the grant under the heading "Other" in 1983 was £300 for summer project and £485.20 for rewiring the holiday house.

3. PACE (Prisoners Aid through Community Enterprise) Leeson Street — also maintain a house in Priorswood, outside the city boundary:

1983: Equipment Grant £126. Subsidy Grant £422. Total £568.

4. Scouting Groups: Grants towards development of a centre at Ballynastone, Donabate, County Dublin.

5. St. Lukes, Kilmore West. 1981—£2,279.00 for development of holiday house, County Wicklow.

6. Catholic Youth Council, Arran Quay, 1981 — £600 for decoration of centre at Coolure, County Westmeath.

7. St. Xavier's Dominick Street, had services of part time teachers at a holiday house in Kildare, 1980-81.

Total cost: £1,800.
