Vol. 356 No. 2

Written Answers. - Estimates of Receipts and Expenditure.

467.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will list in respect of 1984 and 1985 the different categories of expenditure that fall under the general title Central Fund services; and in particular the percentage constituted by payments of interest and repayments of principal on foreign loans.

With the exception of the figure for foreign interest, which is not identified separately, all the information requested by the Deputy is contained in Part IV (A) of the White Paper: Estimates of Receipts and Expenditure for the Year ending 31 December 1985.

In 1984, interest payments on Exchequer foreign debt accounted for about 36 per cent of total Central Fund expenditure. It is not possible, at this stage, to break down the 1985 interest figure into its domestic and foreign components.

Repayments of principal on foreign loans are not made from Central Fund Services.
