Garda crime statistics nationally and for the Dublin metropolitan area are compiled on a calendar year basis and are published in the annual crime reports of the Commissioner, Garda Síochána, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library. The most recent report is in respect of the year 1983.
Statistics of indictable offences reported or known to the Garda as having been committed in the Garda subdistricts mentioned in Question No. 507 during the years 1981, 1982 and 1983 are given in the following tabular statement. I am informed by the Garda authorities that statistics for 1984 are not yet available.
