The application in this case is in respect of the installation of sewerage facilities, the building of a bathroom and the carrying out of necessary repairs to the fabric of the house. A grant for the carrying out of repairs to the basic fabric of the house cannot be allowed because the works proposed do not come within the scope of the current scheme. Grants for the installation of sewerage facilities and the building of a bathroom have been approved. On receipt of notification of completion of works a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grants, if in order.

A grant cannot be allowed for the provision of a chimney because, contrary to a condition of the scheme, there is an existing chimney in the house. Grants for the installation of water and sewerage facilities and the provision of a bathroom and extra bedroom have been approved. On receipt of notification of completion of works a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grants, if in order.

Neither can a grant for the installation of a water supply be allowed because the applicant is a member of a group water supply scheme. A grant for the installation of sewerage facilities will be approved when the applicant submits evidence of planning permission for the septic tank. On receipt of such evidence the relevant certificate of approval will be issued. Subsequently it will be a matter for the applicant to notify my Department in relation to the completion of the works approved. At that stage a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant, if in order.

This applicant was requested in January 1985 to submit further documentation in connection with his application for a new house grant. When this is received the file will be referred to my Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to determining his eligibility for the grant.
