Vol. 358 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

569.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be sanctioned for a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and when the grant will be paid.

The application in this case is in respect of the installation of sewerage facilities, the building of a bathroom and the carrying out of necessary repairs to the fabric of the house. A grant for the carrying out of repairs to the basic fabric of the house cannot be allowed because the works proposed do not come within the scope of the current scheme. Grants for the installation of sewerage facilities and the building of a bathroom have been approved. On receipt of notification of completion of works a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grants, if in order.

The application in this case is in respect of the installation of water and sewerege facilities, the provision of a chimney, bathroom, and an extra bedroom. A grant cannot be allowed for the provision of a chimney because, contrary to a condition of the scheme, there is an existing chimney in the house. Grants for the installation of water and sewerage facilities and the provision of a bathroom and extra bedroom have been approved. On receipt of notification of completion of works a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grants, if in order.

The application in this case is in respect of the installation of water and sewerage facilities and the building of a bathroom. A bathroom grant cannot be allowed because an essential repairs grant was previously paid in respect of the house.

Neither can a grant for the installation of a water supply be allowed because the applicant is a member of a group water supply scheme. A grant for the installation of sewerage facilities will be approved when the applicant submits evidence of planning permission for the septic tank. On receipt of such evidence the relevant certificate of approval will be issued. Subsequently it will be a matter for the applicant to notify my Department in relation to the completion of the works approved. At that stage a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant, if in order.

The application in this case is in respect of the installation of water and sewerage facilities, the building of a chimney, a bathroom and the carrying out of necessary repairs to the basic fabric of the house. A grant cannot be allowed for the building of the chimney because contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, this facility already exists in the house.

The application in this case was in respect of the installation of sewerage facilities. A grant cannot be allowed in accordance with the statutory conditions of the scheme, because the existing septic tank is adequate.

The application in this case is in respect of the building of a bathroom and extra bedroom. However, such grants cannot be allowed because, contrary to statutory conditions of the scheme, a bathroom already exists in the house and in the case of the bedroom, work had commenced prior to an inspection of the House.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

This applicant was requested in January 1985 to submit further documentation in connection with his application for a new house grant. When this is received the file will be referred to my Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to determining his eligibility for the grant.
