asked the Minister for the Environment if he will grant approval for the sewerage scheme for Robertstown, Naas, County Kildare, a request for which has been before his Department for some time; and if he will indicate the possibility of this matter being dealt with under the 1985 small schemes.

The Robertstown sewerage scheme proposal provides for the discharge of effluent to the River Slate. Contract documents are with my Department at present but before their examination can be completed a further report on the quality of the receiving water must be submitted by Kildare County Council as requested by my Department. This report is awaited in my Department. As the estimated cost of this scheme is far in excess of the £50,000 maximum limit that applies to schemes in the small schemes programme it is outside the scope of that programme.
