Written Answers. - Day Facilities in Hospitals.
A large number of day patients, including surgical patients, are treated in many general hospitals around the country but these patients tends to be treated in the general wards and not in special day hospitals.
In the case of other institutions, such as geriatric hospitals and psychiatric hospitals, the distinction between a day hospital and a day care centre is not always clearcut and in practice there is a degree of overlap between the two facilities.
