Vol. 358 No. 12

Written Answers. - County Galway National School.

730.

asked the Minister for Education if she will request the Board of Works to produce sketch plans immediately for an extension to a national school (details supplied) in County Galway; and if she will endeavour to have planning completed for this extension within the next three months in view of the fact that the existing accommodation which amounts to a pre-fabricated classroom which has been in existence for 17 years and is in a very poor state of repair and is totally inadequate to meet the needs of children in the area.

My Department, in February 1985, after being informed by the Commissioners for Public Works that it was feasible to erect the proposed extension to the school in question on the existing school site, requested the commissioners to prepare sketch plans for the extension.

I understand that the commissioners expect to have completed the sketch plans by August 1985.
