As advised in reply to a previous question, outline proposals for a new Garda station at Ashbourne were prepared for submission to the local authority under the Planning Acts in 1984. The consultations with the local authority have been prolonged but are expected to be concluded shortly. In the meantime preparation of contract documents is well in hand and it is hoped that tenders will be invited within the next few months.
