Since the social employment scheme commenced on 25 February 1985 the National Manpower Service have received seven applications from sponsors in County Cavan and six applications from sponsors in County Monaghan. Four projects have been approved in County Cavan, one of which commenced on 13 May 1985 while one project in County Monaghan has received approval subject to the sponsor obtaining local trade union approval. The other applications are being processed at present.
