Vol. 359 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dental Treatment.

559.

asked the Minister for Health if he will investigate the reason a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath is having difficulty in having necessary dental treatment carried out.

The person in question may have eligibility for dental treatment under the Department of Social Welfare dental benefit scheme as well as under the medical card scheme. In such circumstances a person is normally required to avail of the social welfare scheme. The health board is not yet in a position to make a decision in this case because the person in question has failed to complete and return a form which would help to clarify the social welfare eligibility position.
