asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement with regard to the up-to-date position relating to the various central heating problems in St. Gabriel's national school, Cowper Street, and whether or not she is satisfied with the present situation; and, if not, whether there are any proposals for improvements.

My Department, on 9 May 1985, following the receipt of an application of 30 April 1985 from the chairman of the board of management for the installation of a gas-fired central heating system in St. Gabriel's boy's and girls' national schools, Cowper Street, Dublin 7, requested the Commissioners of Public Works to furnish a report and recommendation in the matter for grant purposes.
When the commissioners' report is received and considered my Department will be in further communication with the chairman of the board of management.
