Vol. 359 No. 3

Written Answers. - Central Waste Disposal Station.

552.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will allow representatives from the Amalgamated Anti-Toxic Group to participate in the review of the national waste disposal centre at Baldonnel.

The review of the proposal for a central waste transfer station at Baldonnel to which I referred in my recent public statement is being carried out in my Department. The small expert group to which I referred in that statement will be primarily concerned with the appraisal of any proposals submitted to me by the private sector for the development of hazardous waste disposal facilities. I do not consider it appropriate to extend the membership of that group on the lines suggested.
