Vol. 359 No. 3

Written Answers. - Clondalkin (Dublin) Health Centre.

589.

asked the Minister for Health if he will agree that the present health clinic in Clondalkin is not adequate to cater for the needs of the residents in the area; and if he will provide a new clinic in the Bawnogue area.

The provision of a new health centre at Deansrath to cater for the ClondalkinBawnogue area is among the Eastern Health Board's top priorities and is the subject of ongoing discussions between the Department and the board. As the health centre must be financed from capital moneys for which there are many competing demands, I regret that I am not in a position to say, at this stage, when it will be possible to sanction the construction of the new centre. Meanwhile, the Eastern Health Board have, with the assistance of Dublin County Council, made provision for temporary health centre facilities at Deansrath.
