Vol. 359 No. 3

Written Answers. - Ferrybank (Waterford) Project.

714.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if it is intended that his Department will be directly involved in the proposed vegetable growing and processing venture to be initiated at IDA held lands at Gurteens, Ferrybank, Waterford; if private interests will also be involved in the project; the number of jobs it is expected will be created; if the lands will be retained by the IDA; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This project is being promoted by private interests in association with the IDA. I welcome any development of this nature which would increase domestic production, and my Department and the State bodies under its aegis will give it every encouragement and assistance. The other details requested are not available to my Department.
