Vol. 359 No. 4

Written Answers. - Shannon (Clare) New School.

208.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position regarding the proposed new national school, St. Aidans, Shannon; and when work is likely to commence.

My Department, in November 1984, sanctioned a grant towards the cost of erecting the proposed new national school, St. Aidan's, Shannon, County Clare. The Commissioners of Public Works are at present attending to the detail design stage of the project.

I understand from the commissioners that arrangements for the preparation of the bills of quantities are in hand. When this work has been completed, the question of inviting tenders for the project will be considered.

It is not possible, at this stage, to say when building work is likely to commence.
