Vol. 359 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) Post Primary School Accommodation.

64.

asked the Minister for Education if she has received the up-to-date advice of the Advisory Council on Post Primary Accommodation in the Greater Dublin Area regarding the provision of a post primary school to serve the Kilnamanagh area of Tallaght, County Dublin; and if she will make a statement on the present position regarding the provision of the post primary school for this area having regard to the detailed representations made by the local associations concerned.

I will consider carefully all representations made by local associations together with any recommendations made by the Dublin Advisory Council, on this case. A comprehensive review of all the relevant statistical data for the general area of Tallaght is presently being undertaken by my Department. Pending the completion of this review, I am not in a position to make any further statement in the matter.

asked the Minister for Education if she has received the up-to-date advice of the Advisory Council on Post Primary Accommodation in the Greater Dublin Area regarding the provision of a post primary school to serve the Castle View area of Tallaght, County Dublin; and if she will make a statement on the present position regarding the provision of the post primary school for this area having regard to the detailed representations made by the local associations concerned.

A deputation of parents from the Castle View area was due to address the Advisory Council for Post Primary Accommodation for the Greater Dublin Area at its meeting on 27 March last but did not do so. Any recommendations made to me by the advisory council in addition to all other representations made to me regarding the provision of a post primary school at Castle View will be carefully considered by me.

The present position is that no decision has yet been made on when that school will be provided.
