Vol. 359 No. 12

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take No. 13 (Vote 40). By agreement, the proceedings on Vote 40 shall be brought to a conclusion not later than 4 p.m. today and the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism shall be called on to conclude not later than 3.30 p.m. Also by agreement if a division is challenged on the Estimate today the taking of such division shall be postponed until 8.30 p.m. next Wednesday.

In view of the urgency and the seriousness of the matter with the last remaining single largest employment industry in the Cork area threatened, would the Government ensure its continuance for the 650 employees——

This does not arise on the Order of Business.

Irish Steel is in terrible danger and I am asking the Government to ensure that finance is provided for its continuance.

That does not arise on the Order of Business.

This is a very serious matter which the Government should pay attention to.

The Deputy should take steps to have Standing Orders changed.

Is the Minister aware whether the Minister for Justice has any proposal to make a decision about a constituent of mine who is serving a prison sentence in Mountjoy?

That does not arise either.

Will he ask the Minister for Justice to contact me?

When will the Minister make a decision on the allocation of funds to Irish Steel?

That does not arise.

This is a very important matter. The people are at their wits end——

The Chair is at his wits end.

(Interruptions.)

The Deputy is being disorderly.

I wish to raise on the Adjournment the question of replacing a rat-infested school at Kilclooney, County Donegal.

There is no provision for a question on the Adjournment——

I will try again next week.

Is the Order of Business agreed? Agreed.
