Vol. 360 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

37.

asked the Minister for Finance if arrangements can now be made to pay the tax rebate to a person (details supplied) in County Dublin in view of the fact that he has been waiting for payment of this rebate for some seven months past.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that, following cessation of his employment on 30 October 1984 the taxpayer submitted to the inspector of taxes four claims for repayment of income tax on the grounds of unemployment. The claims were dealt with and cheques in settlement were issued to the taxpayer. The final claim was dealt with by way of a provisional review of his liability for 1984-85.

The inspector wrote to the taxpayer on 4 April 1985 for the details required to enable his final liability for 1984-85 to be determined but he has not yet responded. The inspector will communicate with the taxpayer again in the matter. Any further repayment which may be due will be made to the taxpayer on receipt of the outstanding information.
