Vol. 360 No. 5

Written Answers. - Darby's Point Harbour, County Mayo.

44.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry in view of the serious problems being experienced by trawler owners because of congestion at Darby's Point Harbour, Cloughmore, Achill, County Mayo, if he will take steps to have funds made available for the extension of the harbour.

Examination of a proposed modified development scheme for Darby's Point has been completed by my Department's engineers. However detailed site investigations, including trial borings, will be necessary before a decision can be taken on this proposal. I have made provision in this year's harbour works programme for such investigation work to be carried out by the Office of Public Works.
