The person referred to by the Deputy has been employed in my Department since 5 January 1976. He is at present on pension rate of pay as a result of being involved in a road accident in 1982. He was informed that he could retire on ill-health grounds and a reply is now awaited from him as to whether he intends to retire and, if so, from what date.
