The cost of the consultancy study of RTE is currently being finalised by the consultants but will not exceed the tender estimate of £204,830. As I indicated in reply to a previous question on this matter (Official Report of 2 July 1985, Col. 16) the cost of this study will be borne by RTE as the benefits of the study will accrue to that organisation and to their viewers and listeners. The cost of publishing the report, estimated at £3,000, is being borne by my Department.
