Vol. 361 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Cork School.

145.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in providing a new primary school at Castlehaven, County Cork; and when work will commence.

The working drawings for the proposed new school at Castlehaven, County Cork, have been completed and the preparation of bills of quantities has been authorised. It is expected that the bills of quantities will be completed in six to eight weeks when tenders can be invited subject to the approval of the Department of Education. It is not possible to say at this stage when building work will commence. The delay in completing the contract document in this and in other cases is due to the large number of projects on hands and the reduced staff numbers available to deal with them.
