asked the Minister for Education the number of deaf children and hearing-impaired children who have to travel outside Kerry each week to go to school.

At present 19 children from County Kerry attend special schools for the hearing impaired in the Republic of Ireland as follows:

Mid-West School for the Deaf, Limerick

Our Lady's School for the Hearing Impaired, Cork

Mary Immaculate School for the Deaf, Stillorgan, County Dublin
