390.

asked the Minister for Education if arrangements can now be made to expedite the erection of additional classrooms urgently required at Bishop Shanahan national school, Orwell Park, Templeogue, Dublin 12; and when it is anticipated that these additional classrooms will be available for use.

391.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position concerning the proposed extension to Bishop Shanahan School, Orwell Park, Templeogue, Dublin 12.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 390 and 391 together. My Department has sanctioned a grant towards the cost of providing four additional classrooms for Bishop Shanahan national school, Orwell Park, Templeogue, Dublin 12. The chairman of the school's board of management has been authorised to invite tenders and it is understood that a report on the tenders received will be submitted in the near future, when the placing of a contract will arise for consideration. It is not possible to say when these classrooms will be available for use.
