Vol. 361 No. 1

Written Answers. - Application for Grant Payment.

98.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will approve a house improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

The application in this case was in respect of the building of a chimney and an extra bedroom. The statutory position is that grants cannot be allowed because there is an existing chimney in the house and the works relating to the provision of a bedroom had commenced prior to the inspection of the house by the Department's inspector. The applicant has been so informed.

99.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will expedite the payment of a home improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

A further inspection carried out recently indicated that the relevant works have not been satisfactorily completed. As soon as the applicant notifies my Department that the necessary outstanding works have been carried out an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant, if in order.
