Vol. 361 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowance.

53.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will have a balanced tax free allowance, covering all previous entitlements, issued to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that, as the taxpayer's total income for the current year is not likely to exceed the appropriate age exemption threshold of £6,000 he is not likely to be liable to income tax for that year. Certificates granting tax exemption for the current year were issued to him in September 1985 and these replaced the normal certificates of tax-free allowances.
