Vol. 361 No. 4

Written Answers. - Employment of Chiropodists.

64.

asked the Minister for Health the qualifications necessary for employment as a chiropodist by the health boards.

A list of persons eligible for employment as chiropodists with public bodies is kept by the Department and circulated to all health boards. Entry to this list is restricted to those who have attended a three year course in chiropody in one of the recognised schools of chiropody in Great Britain or Northern Ireland or who have satisfied the Chiropodists Assessment and Advisory Committee (set up in 1975) that their level of knowledge and experiences is sufficient to ensure the same standard of care as that provided by those who have completed the three year course.
