Vol. 361 No. 12

Written Answers. - County Galway Timber Contract.

68.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if he will investigate complaints made by a person (details supplied) in County Galway that timber that he cut on contract which was not purchased by the former Scariff Chipboard Factory due to its liquidation, was used by his Department and that he did not receive payment for cutting this timber and if he will now make arrangments for reimbursement to be made to the person concerned.

The forest and wildlife service of my Department did not contract with the person referred to to cut the timber involved in this case. It is understood that he was under contract to cut timber for Chipboard Products Limited which went into receivership on 18 November 1983. Any payment due to him would accordingly be a matter for the receiver.
