Vol. 361 No. 13

Written Answers. - General Medical Service Deficit.

57.

asked the Minister for Health the general medical service deficit in each health board area; and how it is proposed to meet this deficit.

Health boards were informed on 17 October 1985, that I have accepted responsibility for providing such extra funds as are needed to meet the cash needs of the General Medical Services (Payments) Board in 1985. The extra requirements for this purpose will be assessed later, taking account, inter alia, of the impact of certain approved pay increases on the board's requirements, which were not provided for in the health boards' original allocations.
